Cédric Alexander Klei Bonnaud is a Chamber of Commerce registered Delft-based photographer portraying passé perspectives on everyday sights. Originally from Amsterdam, he photographs on a freelance basis -- combining it with his studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Previous work includes highly formal ceremonial occasions at instances at the University of Amsterdam, students balls at well-established student associations, and the subsequent dance floor.
On a less formal note:
This website came into existence as the response to a long-standing wish of mine to have a simple, cloud-based medium to share uncompressed creative imagery with friends and family. It permits one to take a closer look at an -- albeit highlighted -- fraction of the portfolio I have built upon the years. It consists mainly of documented travels abroad on one side, and Dutch student life through an insider's perspective on the other side. When I find the time, I turn to planned portrait imagery. That is, mainly in the form of both digital and analog photography, but also in video, and graphic format.
Ever since shooting on the analog format I have come to cherish the imperfections that come along with the nature of the analog process ever more. This altered my thoughts on the post-processing of digital photographs, where I now find myself neglecting the removal of certain imperfections, which translated into an ever more distinct raw and candid style. These imperfections can be recognized in the grain that exists in the imagery from the deejay endeavors of a good friend of mine, who goes by the name of "infinite v." Since I regard my work for him more as an all enticing project, I dedicated a section called "coffee and clubs" to that part of my portfolio.
As an active member of the Delft-based rowing association D.S.R.V. "Laga", I have attended and photographed many rowing events. Influenced by my all-manual lenses, capturing the rich rowing culture had my preference over pure sports photography, where focus is king. Hence, the sports part of my creative portfolio leans towards the ambiance, and not to the momentary action, of passé-touched occasions like the annual "Varsity" regatta at Houten. Or, the ambiance might induce the inherent action, as it adds all value and symbolizes the stakes?
As you ponder whether you agree or not, you might as well grab a cup of English tea with plenty of milk and sugar, come back in your own time, sit back for a good bit and explore the little this website has to offer. And do not for a moment hesitate to inquire on anything photo, video, text or tea.
I'd love to spill it.
